The Black Keys hired the services of Harmony Korine to direct the music video for Gold On The Ceiling. For those familiar with Korine's style, you'll recognize it instantly with the home camcorder/VHS tape quality which was used in Trash Humpers. We've watched and followed Korine's work for a pretty long time now and this video kinda disappoints. Why? Because you can see and feel that Harmony was handcuffed when making this video, it's not his usual extreme bizarro world that we like. It's tame, it's for a big band and they obviously can't risk too much crazy shit. The Korine aesthetic is there but the mindfuck isn't.
