Check out this concept glass made by Alesina Design. The small hole divides the glass into two sections, your "need" and your personal/most of the time unnecessary "want". If you pour more water than you "need", you'll have to cover the hole with your finger if you don't want water all over your floor. This is obviously more of a global concept, where you can "put a stop to waste with one's own hands". The glass sells for $30.
